Description

Niagara Falls Parkway runs along the river from Niagara Falls to Queenston, the site of Brock's Monument. The Gardens along the parkway include the Floral Clock, Lilac Gardens, Butterfly Conservatory (of yesterday's image), and the Horticultural Gardens and school next to the Butterfly Conservatory. This garden is an Allee and designed in the formal European tradition with long, long walk ways lined with structured (pollarded, i.e. trimmed heavily) trees, creating a disappearing line to an urn at the end. The immense scale of these gardens must have been inspired by the mighty Falls and River.
