Description

Cast during a medieval show event in an old castle, Germany. The blacksmith´s style and gesture appeared authentic, and he was so engaged with his forging that he was not aware of my camera. Canon G1, ISO 100, 20 mm (97 mm equiv.), 1/320 sec @ f:2.5. Shot in RAW format, cropped and levels in PS7

Your photo is excellent. I especially enjoy seeing photographs of people in their trades. This photo appears to be pretty near what the camera saw without all the fancy tinting and special editing. Nice job. #1496443

Thank you all ! I am a new member, and I must say I am swept off my feet from your great response, thanks again.
This photo is one of my favourites, and I am glad you like it. The blacksmith was unaware of me, because I shot with my G1, with the swivel LCD display 90 degree swept. The main problem was the shutter lag of the G1, to catch the "decisive moment". I was quite happy to catch his expression. I tried out a sepia toned B&W, also, but I like the color version the most.
