Description

I was photographing this musician in the subway station, when I caught the American flag as the train zoomed by in the background!

Awesome photo. What aperture and shutter speed were you using? #245351

Thanks very much, Lori. I honestly don't know the aperature. I shot it with my Canon 20D on auto exposure, think I used the built in flash (so if that was the case, it would bave been 1/60 sec.) I only took one shot, and had to do minimal cropping, to keep the '72' in the picture. I was amazed to have caught the flag, as the train was going by so fast, it was truly a serendipitous experience! #1323366

WOW Sandy that is amazing. Love the way it has stretched the stars and stripes. And the guy just kept playing right through it! #1325698

Thanks, Kate! I should probably explain that in the NYC subways, it is common to find musicians playing along the tracks. This man was across the tracks from where I was standing, and as I photographed him, the subway train came whizzing by on the opposite side. The American flag is painted on one or two cars on each train, and I just happened to hit the shutter as the car with the flag on it flew by, thus the train and flag are blurred, crdating a 'stretched' look. #1331835

This is another one that I liked alot from your disc. At the right place at the right time with the right shutter speed! I love when that happens!
