I read everyone's comments above... I agree.. Congrats to you Thomas on an OUTSTANDING - WORLD LANDSCAPE IMAGE... a Spectacular Finalist..WTG!!!

Now, for an question: HOW ON EARTH DID YOU MAKE THIS SHOT... I mean where did you stand? I've never seen sand like this before.. except I believe in your's and Deb H. images.. I would love to know are you standing in them... or up above on different land... lol..

Chris: Thank you very much for the visit and comment! White Sands is an amazing place. The sand is the whitest sand in the world and very light. Wind makes those patterns and one has to find places where no one has stepped on the patterns to get an unspoiled shot. Photographers take their shots from within the dunes. I hike almost every time I go and find seclusion somewhere. It is a magical place. Hope you can get there one day! Tom #8382439
