Thanks so much for your wonderful comments, Rob, Bonnie, Colleen, Kathleen, and Paul! I really appreciate them. I am going to have to resubmit this tomorrow. After I uploaded it, I noticed two little areas left over from a slight straightening I did and missed when I cropped out the area from straightening. Since I can't pull it today, I will leave it and resubmit it tomorrow. Oh well......

Gianna Stadelmyer December 17, 2004

Thanks so much Charlene, Mike, Fazal, Gary, Dan, Dale, Joy, and Paula! Paula, I used two pieces of white posterboard for the BG. The seam blends together since the camera is not focused on it. I use it by a bright window, use a silver reflector to fill in the shadows on it, and then expose the shot for as long as I can to get the bright white bg. It's an interesting set up... I set the posterboard on top of a microwave that sits betweena window and a large upright freezer in my tiny kitchen here. The posterboard curves up onto the wall behind, the white side of the freeer reflects some of the light from the window along with my reflector, and like I said, the line where the two pieces of posterboard overlap blurs out of focus as long as the DoF isn't too deep. Hope that makes sense. It's nothing fancy, believe me, but it's a set up that I have found works as long as it's a bright enough day:-)
