Thank you for your kind words, Steve! I had the great honor of accompanying this family on their China adoption trip. This is the first few moments - by the next day, Yang (now Sam) was smiling and following his new mom and sister around like a little duck, and eating like a little piglet! #7516229

This photo tells the whole story. Just lovely. The emotion in it is very powerful. Perfect timing. #7592351

Hi Vik, just wondering: is there a way we can follow along with your documentation of this adoption? My heart goes out to the two main subjects of this photo who are on the threshold of a unique experience.

thank you all! nancy --i have a few more images in my gallery here at betterphoto --MOST of them showing everyone smiling --this mom was amazing --this is the second child she has adopted from china, and she had amazing mother's intuition. she had told us in advance that sam might not be happy about his new situation immediately, and that we should prepare ourselves for tears or tantrums. but after the first 20 minutes or so, he was truly at home. she knew JUST what to do for him. #7594467
