Description

When he's not tormenting the other cats, Onslow is a sweetheart!
Honest critiques appreciated! I've never figured out what the judges look for in cat photos.

Very nice detail in the cat's face and eyes.
I really like the diagonal presentation.
As to what the judges are looking for in cat photos......
I couldn't tell you what they look for in ANY photo.
Shoot and post that which you enjoy and the rewards will take care of themselves.

Good afternoon, Colette, Rob, Sue, Jill, Wendy, Terry, Sanjay, Shirley, Colleen, Bill, and Debby! Thanks for all your wonderful comments and words of encouragement about Onslow and his photo today! I am somewhat reluctant to submit cat photos because I think it's harder to be objective about your own little furry darling's picture! And I don't at all mean to slam the judging, but I really am curious! Well, curiousity did kill the cat, though, didn't it? LOL! I will continue to submit what I like, and maybe someday I'll have good news for one of the "kids" at the middle of the month.
Thanks again!! #866873

Dan Holm October 24, 2004

You don't need any critiques on this one!! I love this portrait of your cat! Beautiful!!! Curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought him back! #867200

Debra Booth October 25, 2004

Thank you so much, Dan, Gloria, and Sharon! I really appreciate all your comments!

Gloria, I saw your shots of Sylvia and Mugzy in your wonderful gallery, and they do look very much like Onz!! #867785

Mary K. Robison October 27, 2004

Interesting day for me to select this particular gallery photo, Debra...
The look in Onz's eyes is wonderful. The photo's clarity and your clever diagonal choice make it a winner, regardless of what the ultimate contest result is.
It's all very subjective, isn't it? Bill's advice is really the one to take to heart. Everything else is gravy!

Hello, Mary! Thanks for your wonderful comments. And, yes, you and Bill are both very right! Judging is very subjective, and I honestly have to please myself first. I think that's the hardest part on some days. I know I have improved a lot because of the great support from the wonderful BP members. That is truly a reward! Thanks very much! #873570
