This is a great shot Peder. I love the background, and the positioning of the spider. Had you waited a long time to get the shot?

Wonderful and yet gross look into nature. I am trying to decide on either the Canon 100/2.8 macro or the Sigma 180 macro. Seeing the detail in your photo has almost made up my mind. Did you use any king of lighting other than natural in this image Peder? #16624

Thank you very much for your comments Cathy, Linda and Mark. Mark, this was shot late afternoon on a cloudy day, so there was not much natural light, I used a Canon Speedlite 420EX, the settings where 1/40 Sec, F11 and the flash was at 2nd curtain sync (fires twice) I am really happy with my Sigma lens, you can look at my gallery here at Betterphoto for more macro shots with this lens. #16627

Hi Again Pender, Thanks for the info my friend. I took a long look at your gallery and i'm so glad I did. Your work is magnificent and truly inspirational. You have also made up my mind...it's the Sigma for me. #16630

Peder, I think this is an excellent shot! I love the contrast. I lightened it a little in PS and, at least from my perspective gave it a bit more life. Wonderful shot! #16669

Nice macro shot Peder! Good composition and detail. Do I see some dust spots from your CCD though? I try to keep my CCD as clean as possible, but if some dust spots escape my cleaning, I always make sure to clone them out before submitting an image anywhere! #19000
