Oh Carolyn!!! This may be your best cat shot yet! The reflection, perspective, composition... I just love it!!!!!!!!!!!! #10058

Carolyn M. Fletcher level-classic October 01, 2002

Thanks, Kathleen!! She does this a lot, and I have been trying to sneak up on her for a long time. Finally managed to get a couple shots yesterday and this was the best of them, I thought. #16213

Dave B. Ventimiglia October 01, 2002

That's hilarious - the title you gave it makes it 10x more funny too :) #16221

Lianne E. Cook October 01, 2002

Wondeful and whimsical Carolyn. I love it! #16363

Carolyn M. Fletcher level-classic October 03, 2002

Thanks, Heather. The poor girl is going to be out of commission for a day or two. She has to go to the vet and get spayed... #16384

Donna R. Moratelli October 04, 2002

GRRREAT PICTURE Carolyn!!!! #16465

Carolyn M. Fletcher level-classic October 04, 2002

Thanks, my dear..She is not a happy camper today. Still waking up from the anesthetic..Still had the energy to give me a "bath", though.. #16466

Donna R. Moratelli October 04, 2002

OH, the poor thing. I hope she's OK> She'll thank you later on in life by being a mellower companion! #16507

Carolyn M. Fletcher level-classic October 04, 2002

Now she's tearing at her stitches so I had to go get her one of those collars to keep her from biting..Boo came unglued when he saw her in the collar. Doesn't recognize her I guess, so he's locked in the den and her in the living room so I can watch her..Oh joy..this is gonna be fun.. #16510

Bob Fowler October 07, 2002

Hi Carolyn,

I'm a "cat person" and always enjoy a good, unusual cat photo. I like your choice of camera position. Had you shot this from a higher angle, you would have lost a lot of the subtle effect you've captured so well, the stretched form of the cat's body. The high aspect ratio crop really works well in this shot. Your placement of the window sill on the diagonal draws the eye right to the cat. Excellent work! #16743

Carolyn M. Fletcher level-classic October 07, 2002

Thanks, Bob!! From one cat person to another, they are so much fun! Glad you like the shot! #16748

Donna R. Moratelli October 07, 2002

Bob, Doen't she look like mine? #16757

Bob Fowler October 07, 2002

Donna... Sure, other than the fact that your cat weighs 18 pounds... Hehehehehe

She actually looks a lot like my Chessie... #16775

Damian P. Gadal October 08, 2002

I've always wondered if the radar-dish collars cause animals to pick-up TV & Radio transmissions... #16811

Carolyn M. Fletcher level-classic October 08, 2002

You think? Maybe that's why they are purring the theme from the Sopranos! #16813

Donna R. Moratelli October 08, 2002

Carolyn, That's possible... It may be why my cat has been threatening to whack me if I don't give him extra cans of food... Bob, He was 20 pounds the last time that I weighed him.(common markings)duh... .Damian, I have heard stories that people with braces can pick up radio sigals so if that is true, why not the collars? Great shot BTW, Carolyn. How's it going with the new stuff?
#16852

Bob Fowler October 08, 2002

20 pounds? Does your cat go "Moooo".... #16858

Damian P. Gadal October 08, 2002

LOL - I should teach my cat that one... He's over 20 pounds. #16862

Donna R. Moratelli October 08, 2002

Good for you Damian. At least we know how to take care of of the basic needS of our Pets. Some breeds are hearty and need food once in a while. Bob, Your six cats must weigh 10 pounds all put together. Do you cats go SQUEEEEEEEK?... #16869

Bob Fowler October 08, 2002

Awww, Donna, You KNOW that the 5 persians have at LEAST 20 pounds of just HAIR! :-) #16871

Donna R. Moratelli October 08, 2002

Bob, You saw me pick up Tut with my pinky finger and he is the biggest and strongest. Got ya! #16878

Bob Fowler October 08, 2002

Bzzzzt! Tut weighs 7 pounds, Trinket weighs 10, Chesapeake weighs 13, Guinevere weighs 7.5, Hershey weighs 6.5, and Cassandra weighs about 4. Keep in mind, Tut is a very old and somewhat frail kitty... #16881

Donna R. Moratelli October 09, 2002

Carolyn, Sorry about all of this small talk on your space! #16930

Carolyn M. Fletcher level-classic October 09, 2002

Keep it up! I'm loving it.. #16933

Donna R. Moratelli October 09, 2002

Hey Bob, I think that scale of yours is wrong. Carolyn, What are your thoughts on raising a healthy cat. How big was Mr.Piggy. He was a cat, not a mouse!!Right??? #16935

Carolyn M. Fletcher level-classic October 09, 2002

Mr. Piggy was a bubba when we got him! He was huge!!! After he got old, he lost a whole lot of weight. Boo is probably about 12 pounds, and Ally is maybe 2 or 3..She's still a tiny tot. My cats usually are on the heavy side. #16937

Marie-H RALETZ May 26, 2019

Hello, Carolyn!
I thoroughly enjoyed the hilarious thread above!!!
It seems cat lovers are also endowed with an exceptional sense of humour!
For the technical critique of your photo, I’ll give 3 thumbs up (ha ha) to Bob…
Nothing to add to that. He said it all!!!
Now is your kitty inspecting for DUST or for FLIES?????
Thanks for sharing this funny scene!
#19167

Carolyn M. Fletcher level-classic May 26, 2019

Whatever she was looking for, she didn't find it, she's still looking up there..When she gets taller, maybe she will let me know what she finds...not that there wouldn't be dust or even an occasional fly up there..anything's possible.. #19196

Marie-H RALETZ May 26, 2019

Yes, sure!!! Please keep me informed...lol #19203

This is such a wonderful shot, I can't believe it wasn't a winner! It certainly is in my book! But, that doesn't win you any cool prizes! I've been looking at your gallery and really enjoy your work. #833601

Carolyn M. Fletcher level-classic October 10, 2004

Thanks Jean. You really went back a ways to dig this one out. #833620

Laura Clay-Ballard May 08, 2005

so typical of a kitty cat.
I love this one! #1330223

Carolyn M. Fletcher level-classic May 08, 2005

Thanks Laura. I would have put it back through for this month's theme, but it's such low resolution, I decided I better not. This was shot with my old 1.6 MP camera. (I didn't know any better). #1330497

Jill Odice level-classic January 29, 2006

This is so sweet! #2353956
