Great lighting Cary, Super compositon, detail and clarity. Great capture. Nice work. James #739659

Hi, James. Thanks for dropping by and leaving me those supportive comments! It wasn't until I started taking macro shots of hen-and-chicks that I realized how "spikey" the edges of the leaves are. So every time I pass them and the light accentuates the edges, I like snapping a few shots; especially this time of year when the tips turn red. Thanks again, James! #4800418

Thank you, Patrick! At certain times these plants remind me of artichokes, and sometimes they remind me of lotus blossoms. Thanks again! #4832505

Hi, Lorri. Thanks for your kind words! I'd removed this image from my gallery--to make room for some newer shots--and then I learned today that it had been picked as a Finalist; so, I put it back in. Thanks for all your supportive comments! Namaste #4975407

Thank you Melissa! :-) This was the first year I noticed all the different color changes these hen and chicks go through. They are very prolific and have taken over large areas of the rock garden. Thanks again....and congratulations to ALL this month's Finalists! #4979210

Thanks, Steve....I appreciate you stopping by and commenting! "Mother hen and chicks" are great for macro photograph, because even if its windy, they barely move. #5082472
