Tumultuous Taiza

Description

12/03/06, Taiza, Japan. Taiza crab is enormously popular these days and decided to take two old friends from out of town to enjoy the delicacy. But getting there was an adventure. As they could read the map better than I, navigation was their job. But after way, way too long on the road, the mountains were looming way too high, and the road was getting way too narrow. It was when we hit the snow and sleet that I jerked the car to a stop and said, "Are you SURE this is the right way?" And they said, "No, actually we're lost..." It turns out that we were deep, deep into another prefecture, in an area so remote the villagers we asked had never heard of Taiza. We eventually found our way, four hours late for our reservation, but just in time for me to capture a few shots of the tumultuous Taiza coast on the Sea of Japan at sunset. Finding landscape photography to be an enormous challenge, amd usually scurry back to macro to regain self-confidence!

Love your colors on this, Susan. I'm not sure about the brick in the bottom right. Beautiful, regardless! #4493734

Thanks Ken! Yes, know the brick isn't terribly aesthetic..., but thought it did tend to lend direction to the eye...? Maybe not... ":^) #4494849

I actually like the brick ... I think it makes it more interesting because I start to wonder where it came from, who left it there, etc.

Great job on colors, comp, and everything else! #4676349
