Good morning Mary, Kristen and Nicole. Thank you for your comments on "Upstairs" FYI... the lighting upstairs is from a ceiling fan/light fixture behind the boy. The incandescent bulbs in this fixture provide a warmer light than the downstairs light which is cooler (bluer) and comes from a compact fluorescent bulb. This accounts for the different tones above and below the railing. I used PS to clone out a couple distracting fan blades and then darkened the image to get the silhouette effect. That's about it. My dad used to tell me to always put a person in a picture. Adding a boy to this image turns it from a very good, but undistinctive graphic with interesting lines and light(hues and patterns), into an image that intrigues the viewer to ask who, where, and why?
