Description

Taken while I was strolling along the shores of Lake Macquarie at mid day Easter Saturday. 1/500th at f5.6, ISO64 with a focal length of 13.5mm. If you look at the hook on the end of the beak, it was a case of 'shoot and run'.

I must say shooting action shots with a digital camera can be a challenge, you certainly need a large memory card and spare batteries. Thank you Susan, for taking the time to comment. #473972

Thank you Susan, this one was a bit of a surprise. Maybe you can be too critical of your own work. #546024

This does look like the one I took, might be his brother. Talking brothers, Phil told me to look this one up. Pelicans sure make good subjects. #4884222

Great Shot!
Come On, What's A Great Shot With Out A Great Story!
Never Had a Pelican Attack Me, but Have Been Attacked By Swans,Canadian Geese, Chickens, Ducks and Seagulls. They Just Look Mean..Just Stand Up To Them!
Took 3 or 4 lures out of Seagulls Mouths
Didn't Break the Skin when They Were Picking at My Hands! Well
Then The Rattlesnake Thing....But That's Another Story!
Great Shot!

Thanks Wm! I had a friend who was accidently cut by that beak hook while cleaning fish, the scar on his forearm is over 6 inches long! I give these wonderful birds all the respect they deserve! #8459967
