The Maine Coon cat is the largest recognized breed of cats. A male averages 18-22 lbs. They are the only breed of cat that includes in its conformation description for cat shows a "temperament clause" .. that they must be gentle. The Maine Coon has a long and dense coat, and highly furred ears. Shown here in a lovely silver shade.
