Go For Contrast When Shooting B&W

Description

“The Shark”. I put my son in a white shirt and under a solitary overhead light to get this dramatic contrast. I positioned the pool balls for composition and a favorable depth of field and positioned him at the intersection of the table rails to get leading lines. With the camera on a tripod I focused on his knuckles before turning the other room lights off. This was one of my son’s favorite senior photographs.
