Description

My little swimming visitor. While swimming with my grandkids, I noticed a visitor on the thermometer string. To my delight, it hung out long enough for me to run in and grab my camera. When I returned with my camera and got off about five shots, I realized that my memory card was not in my camera. face palm. Then after I got back, it returned to the string! We named her Jessica. :)

This is really awesome! How did you get it to stay still? #1740652

Stunningly sharp and well composed! Lucky you. Dragon flies aren't as spooked by people as other flying things.... Wonderful image, if I haven't said that already.. :-) #11809974

Thank you Deb and Bob! As Bob said, it didn't seem to mind getting the camera in it's face. :) Thank you for your kind words. I've always admired the macro work of other photographers who shoot bugs, butterflies, and such. I know I don't exactly have the right equipment, but was pleased with these results. #11810029

This is a wonderful composition in addition to the exceptional detail of the Dragon Fly you have achieved. Very impressive! #11810051

Great job. I love how the front of the dragonfly is super sharp, and the sharpness gradually fades toward the back. The water made a perfect background too. #11810147
