Continuing with my posts from the recent trip in the Himalayas.....once I was done with my Valley of Flowers trip, I also took the trek up to the Hemkund Sahib, at 15197 ft. it is a Sikh place of worship and pilgrimage, you will find two different type of people making this trip, one who love nature and adventure like myself and the others going there on pilgrimage, it was a difficult trek from 9800 ft to 15000 ft but one of the most astonishing things in this trip for me was this old lady, in her seventies , she never took a break , continued at a slow but steady pace, chanting all the way, wearing only slippers (that too she took off towards the end). I spoke to her at this stage of the hike when the path was the steepest and was also very dangerous and I was getting worried for her, she told me she is going there to offer prayers for her sons who is in Army, it was very touching .... I don't think I'll ever forget her.....
