Alluvial Fan and Rock Debris Field
Uploaded: July 05, 2016 | Entered: July 05, 2016 20:50:55
A cloudy day sports a rock debris field, which also shows an alluvial fan formed from mountain wash. The scene can be found above the Independence Mine Historic Park, Hatcher's Pass, near Palmer, Alaska.

The multi layer effect of contrast, beautiful colors and composition magnifies the dynamic energy of the scene. Great theme entry! #1662462Amanda D. Austwick July 06, 2016
I like the layers of rock with the moss and stream below. #11492548Nikki McDonald July 06, 2016
Doesn't get much rockier than this, Sue. #11492549Michele Peterson July 06, 2016
My husband is from Wasilla. :-) Neat capture of this rock field! I like the clouds up top. #11492563Susan M. Hembree July 06, 2016
Thanks, Sylvia, Amanda, Nikki, and Michele! It's actually so beautiful to look at the rocky field at Hatcher's Pass, especially during a cloudy, misty day in Fall. Brings out all the colors and greens of the mosses and grass. My grandkids when they visited loved to bounce all over the rocks in the field. And Michele, it's neat that your husband is from Wasilla. Not sure if you've been there, but if you haven't, you will have to go. Hatcher's Pass was one of my favorite places to visit in the area. I sure hope I can get back there one day! #11492586Joy Rector July 06, 2016
