Hi All-I couldn't resist posting this for Dale's challenge, and also because Peter loves tulips so much.I'm still working on Erin's portrait, but wanted to get this in before the end of the month. It may be a temporary post-I don't like to have two images up at the same time. I just needed a laugh today:)

thanks for adding to the challenge, Elaine, and it a swell image to. I love tulips and I like your diagonal comp.As with Erin's pix, I think this could use a stroke to contain the background. #11009692

Like the POV though I would give it a nonstadard crop enhancing the vertical lines by taking off the last green leaf/stem on the right side. Agree with Dale on the stroke. Beautiful color and a much better smell than Dale's sample. #11009765Kalena Randall March 27, 2014
This is tulip, Elaine! WTG!Debbie E. Payne March 28, 2014
Gorgeous, Elaine. I definitely agree with the stroke around the frame and Mike has a good idea for the crop but I think both would work. It is tulip time, isn't it? Is it a store bought tulip or does Cleveland have tulips up already? #11010160Elaine Hessler March 28, 2014
Thanks for the suggestions Dale and Mike! Here's the edit. I only wish the center of this photo was more in focus, but it was a quickie...Debbie-NO tulips here! The daffodils are about an inch out of the ground. Spring is very delayed here. It has been in the 20s the whole month. It should be 50 by now.
And Kalena-I LOVE tulips-they are my absolutel favorite flower.
I am not taking this post down (even though I am breaking the rules with two-still working on the other) until I get a comment out of Peter. Peter-please do me the favor of making me laugh today-I need to hear you slam the tulips. It will make me smile:) Please? #11010285

Oops-here's the edit. #11010286Michael Kelly March 28, 2014
I like the edit - simple and elegant. Can't slam the Tulip because I like them. #11010350Dale Hardin March 28, 2014
the stroke really helped tie it together. Don't forget to take photos when the Tulips start dying. Makes great shots. #11010357Jeff E Jensen March 28, 2014
The edit is what it needed, good work! #11010363Peter W. Marks March 29, 2014
Ah Elaine! Perhaps you will change my mind yet. The soft pink warmth of a fair damsel's cheek might just do it!Rita K. Connell March 29, 2014
beautiful and the stroke is just what it needed. love the texture #11011733Anthony L. Mancuso March 29, 2014
Agree with the compliments Elaine, as well as your own observation that the center could be more in focus...smaller aperture with a higher ISO and/or slower shutter speed (I'm assuming you used a tripod because handholding at 1/5th would be quite a feat) would've helped you out with that... #11011989Beth Spencer March 30, 2014
Your edit is great! I also love tulips! Sorry Peter! I really like to look inside them as there is always beautiful colors and patterns! Peter, maybe you should look inside them and you might change your opinion of them! #11013078Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
