This was taken this weekend at Traverse City, MI. It was really cold and I was hoping to get some cool photos of the bay/lake. Nothing really looked that great, so this may be a big challenge for you. Not a lot to work with!

Can't wait to see what you all come up with. I'll work on this before I see what you all post.

Good luck! #1564245

Thanks for sending that great shot. It was such a good shot that I didn't feel it needed anything "creative" to be done to it. But it did have a lot of room to make exposure enhancements. #10980898

Elaine Hessler February 20, 2014

Cool Dale! Here's mine. I adjusted the levels and used Nik's SilverEffex. The only thing that is bugging me is there is some noise and may have been introduced or enhanced with the Nik Plugin. The denoiser did not work effectively. #10981097

here is mine I added a little something new to the image. didn't have much time but I think it works for this image I was lucky I just took this image this past saturday. thanks Elaine it was fun

Wooohoo it got up to 59 today and I can see grass again. #10981144

Dale Hardin February 20, 2014

Well done, Elaine. I see that you did some cropping and went for a pano look and black and white always seems to make a favorable result with a snow scene.

Maintaining the center weighted crop would not have been my choice, and I think moving the left side out of view reduced the power of your composition just a bit. I still like it though. #10981158

Dale Hardin February 20, 2014

Rita, that was a stroke of genius and works very well. You all are lucky (or un-lucky) to have plenty of snow scenes to draw from. I like how it enhances the overall scene.

I think you could take a bit more time and make a better color match so it doesn't give away the composite so easily. Great job. #10981159

Kalena Randall February 20, 2014

Nice stuff from everyone!

Here's my rendition.

Nice work so far! #10981178

Dale Hardin February 20, 2014

Your signature look always stands out, Jeff. I like it. #10981224

Rita K. Connell level-classic February 20, 2014

I would have known it was yours jeff with out looking....LOL ok here a little more work on it. #10981330

Dale Hardin February 20, 2014

Much better, Rita. Thanks. #10981459

Susan Williams February 20, 2014

You all just blow me away! Great work everyone. And Rita, Wow!

I agree with Dale -- I loved the image at first sight, and the invitation to play is, well, almost a privilege!

Jeff, you're a hoot. I keep waiting for a drunk man to come into view. #10981467

Rita K. Connell level-classic February 20, 2014

thank you dale, I am glad I did. Susan both are great but I really like your second one. very cool #10981476

Dale Hardin February 20, 2014

I like where you're going with sample 2, Susan. Would love to capture some scenes like this live, but that would mean going where it's cold, wouldn't it? :o) #10981486

Jeff E Jensen February 21, 2014

I agree, Susan. Well done! #10981704

Beth Spencer February 21, 2014

I really like all the different renditions of these. It is so interesting to see how different we all process these.
I worked on mine before I read the thread and here is what I came up with. I did a color one and used color effex pro, then I converted to black and white with silver effex. #10982163

Peter W. Marks February 22, 2014

And it would have been too easy just to try out the dozens of Topaz effects and left it there but nothing gained as they say! #10982865

Dale Hardin February 22, 2014

Nice job, Peter. They fit into the scene beautifully. #10982900

Elaine Hessler February 22, 2014

I LOVE what everyone did with this image! Again, there is so much variety in the results. I love the personal touch you all put on my image. These are keepers for me:)

If anyone still wants the image, just let me know! #10982922

Susan Williams February 22, 2014

Love the personal touch that brings life to a beautiful, but otherwise desolate place, Peter. #10982931

Beth Spencer February 22, 2014

Love the picture of your daughter and dog in there, nice job Peter! #10982939

Kalena Randall February 23, 2014

Great photos, everyone. All of the WWYD photos are just beautiful!

I've been so busy this last week and into this next one that I probably won't be able to get something done. :-(. Bummer!

I'm sick of the cold weather so I wanted to add a big element of summertime to my version.. #10985312

Dale Hardin February 25, 2014

Now, THAT'S funny. Hope you took a series, 'cause would love to see him land. :o) #10985319

Rita K. Connell level-classic February 25, 2014

still laughing....great idea and I am with you on the cold...22 degrees today feels like 16 #10985478

Peter W. Marks February 25, 2014

Oh yes Tony. This is a fun shot. Good one.

And since no one else has asked; who can tell me what those white plastic(?) pipes are for? #10985490

Elaine Hessler February 25, 2014

Wow-that is really good with the lighting and shadows! Very fun shot!

Peter-I don't know what those things are. They look like caps on the wood. But if this is a pier, there was nothing to walk on. Maybe it is just something boats can dock to? #10985554

Beth Spencer February 25, 2014

Tony , you made me laugh really hard!!! Yes I am sick of winter!!! #10985574

Peter W. Marks February 26, 2014

A bit of nonsense for a smile on a very cold morning.

Oh man, that is fantastic, Tony!

Elaine, I never got your picture, Elaine. But I suspect it is running around cyberspace looking for a hotmail account that doesn't exist anymore. I'm at gmail now.

I love what everyone has done and can't imagine anything different but I'll give it a try. #10986392

Anthony L. Mancuso February 26, 2014

Glad you guys appreciate my warped sense of humor. Unfortunately, Dale, I ran out of film just as I got this shot....fortunately though, Peter was there to capture the aftermath of the collision with the ice..

I heard about that incident Jeff but that is the first footage I have seen of it. It's a good thing my diving guy didn't make the olympic figure skating squad because he wouldn't have lasted through his double axle, nevermind the triple sow cow the petite girl is performing when she falls through.. #10986424

Rita K. Connell level-classic February 28, 2014

I am still laughing pete....thanks for showing us the end collision...lol #10987946

Oh my gosh, I just saw the video! #10991259
