Now that it is minus 4 and still falling not to mention our wind chill, I thought I would work on some from the other day. I cropped this and am adding the uncropped one. I liked the angles and ice but am not sure if it is too busy. #1558461

It sure looks cold, Beth. Here in So. Cal. it was 83 today and sunny. Gets cold at night though, down to almost 50. :o) #10939324

Yeah, I'm in Vegas this week, headed to PHX this weekend. Y'all can keep the cold. #10939348

ok smarty pants...sometimes we need a deep freeze it keeps us in and lets life slow down a little and we all need that. by the weekend we will be in the mid 50's

Beth a very cool find but not sure I understand how it was formed. because the bg doesn't have any ice. I do like your cropped one for the reason you mention I like the angles. #10939643

Dale and Jeff can you send some of your warm weather here? I will be glad to send some of ours!!
Rita, this is off the side of the logging road the dogs and me walk on. There is a culvert that sends the water over the side of the hill. I shot this from above looking down on it and left the pipe out. #10940020

Neat-I like the cropped one below a lot. It looks just a little dark to me. Can you play with the levels or open up the shadows a tad? #10940044

I lightened it up a bit #10940063

Love the last edit, Beth. It looks and feels very cold.

It's bitterly cold here in Atlanta, but at least we didn't get the wind that was forecast. It seems every mile or so there is a car on the side of the road that just couldn't take it anymore. #10940096

Interesting find Beth! I thought the original looked a bit muddy but your edits definitely improved that. I'm actually a fan of the uncropped version and I think the bg works even though it's busy, because the trees form a consistent textured appearance throughout.. #10940329

Thaanks for asking the question that was on my mind Rita! And thanks for the explanation Beth.
The cropped version has the edge for me as it is arguably a more powerful image but it is such an unusual image of ice on trees that I like both. #10941291

Thanks everyone! Tony it was good to hear from you! We had -18 before the windchill the other day and may it to 28 today, so it feels like a heat wave!! #10941340

Brr that looks cold. The edits helped the look a lot – great documentation of the freeze of 13/14. #10943213
