Spent some QUALITY TIME watching several Wood Storks flying from Nest Site to near by trees . All were very intent on breaking off just the right piece of branch to add to the construction of their nest's. Was great to see they were nesting in the trees on 2 small islands of the rear area at Wakodahatchee Wetlands in DelRay Florida. First time doing so in such numbers . Approximately a dozen nests. where previously Gr.B.Herons had nested.

Hi Jack - this is a great comppsition with a good storyline.I so enjoyed the birds in Florida especially the Herons as they are elusive with us and go to the northern part of Ontario to the great forests.
I sure saw a lot of alligators at the zoo - you were on my mind the whole zoo visit! #1521088

Terrific capture - they're so meticulous (but then mom can be quite demanding, I suppose). #10625326Agnes Fegan March 27, 2013
Looks like you got the insiders tour of nest building...super catch and point of view! #10625362Michelle Alton March 27, 2013
Fantastic capture, but I need to get my eyes checked. I thought it was a large, gloved hand grasping the bird by the neck! #10625367Mary K. Robison March 27, 2013
You've filled in another gap in my knowledge of wildlife, Jack ~ never heard of a wood stork before. He seems to have a strong but delicate grasp of the branch, much like the baby-delivery cartoons.Leslie J. Morris March 27, 2013
Fun Jack! I spent yesterday watching GB Herons and Great Egrets doing this. Nesting starts much later in California. I hope to get to Florida next year. #10625429Michael Frazier March 27, 2013
