Description

My 5 year old granddaughter was born with severve congenital heart defects. While her defects are rare, 1 in 100 children are born with CHDs. She attends a very small Christian school with an enrollment of 125. This year another little girl with a CHD came into her class. During CHD awareness week, the school held a special celebration of the lives of these two little girls. Part of the celebration was a balloon release. The two girls released their pink balloons first, and when I looked up they had found each other and entwined. I couldn't help thinking the joined balloons were so symbolic of the kindred spirits of kiddos with heart defects. Textures and filters added.
