Overlooking the Numbers

Description

Visitors to the New River Gorge overlook near Hawk’s Nest State Park in West Virginia can see almost forever, but the telescopic viewers strategically placed on the platform can bring things even closer. I took in the breathtaking views, of course, but then I turned my attention to the numbers at the bottom of the viewers. Happy Super Bowl Sunday, everyone - may the best team win (as long as it isn't the Ravens...)!

Dear Photo Friend: I feel that something has changed at Better Photo but cannot tell you just what has happened. I have been here since 2003 and most every month I have written to all the winners telling them how their work touches me. I have witnessed photographs that bring tears to my eyes and colors that are unbelievable, now I am worried that like all good things that it will not be here the next time I look.
But the feeling of not being able to congratulate all the winners for the hard work, and sharing their talent with all of us makes me so sad.
