One of the last leafs on our River Birch Tree - Standing up to Mother Nature can be challenging.... We have had some really strong winds recently and this one is still hanging on!

Canon 100-400L IS at 400mm. ISO 400, Late-Morning, 1/1250 @ f5.6, EC 0 (D&M)

Great Job of going with the Black Background really brings out that ISOLATED EFFECT, details of the leaf are wonderful.
Across the street there's an Scrub Oak that retains just about all its dead leaves through out the Winter. Have never been able to find out why this happens.
One of those LITTLE ODD THINGS that tend to make me crazy w/curiosity. & Trust me there's a VERY LONG LIST of those THINGS !!!
