Thanks Merna and Michelle! The lotus came early this year and caught me unawares--as wasn't going to those portions of the mountain parks we have here. At any rate, there are always some all summer long. I've been softening with Noise Ninja lately, putting it full strength and contrast on zero for softening all or part of an image, but not sure I like the effect here. Here's the unsoftened version if anyone ventures to give an opinion. #9444758

Hi Susan, I kinda like the unsoftened version showing the veins and textures of the lotus petals. With the noise filtering, the petals lose the texture that makes the lotus flower so engaging. I would prefer to have the background free of noise though if at all possible. Just my 2 cents. #9460992

Thanks Reynaldo! I think I agree with you and might enter the unsoftened version next month. The background (if you mean the non-flower part) is entirely free of noise thanks to Noise Ninja, though it might be hard to see. #9461828
