Rising Zion
Uploaded: December 03, 2010
Many tripoders gather for sunrises behind the museum in Zion National Park. It was my intent to remake a pano with a more dramatic sky, but, because of the long exposures required and the fast-changing sky, I had to settle for single shots. To show how quickly the scene can change I've included a few more in Comments.
f/13, 20 sec., 24-105mm at 32mm, ISO 100, tripod
Exif: F Number: 13, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 20/1 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 100, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 32.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS 5D Mark II

Ok, I'm going to triple that WOW and throw in a Oh my Gosh. This is really some incredible work my friend. That red rock and lighting is so pretty I think as you have shown us here, that it looks gorgeous with any sky. I to love the way you took the time to show us the affect of light on a picture and the different looks you get. Thank you for that. Remarkable work my friend. #9078006Jeff Robinson December 03, 2010

Simply amazing how fast the light changes and how different each turns out in a photo, Marty! My favorite is the one you chose, by the way. Fabulous! #9078209Julianne Bradford December 03, 2010

WOW!!! How wonderful to capture this beautiful changing scene. Excellent work and images, Marty. #9078561Ron McEwan December 03, 2010
It is hard on a dedicated photographer to have something in their mind they want, and mother nature has other ideas. All shots will stand on their own merit Marty. That is why it is so hard to tear yourself away from a place like that because in a few minuets it is altogether a different view. Beautiful work my friend. Hang on the the going down the trail together one of these days. #9078709Ellen Hodges December 03, 2010

Each and every one of them deserves a submit, Marty...this is a spectacular 14 minute light show. Amazing how quickly the drama of light and it's effects changes a scene.
