Mt Mitchell, NC, is the highest peak of the Appalachian Mountains and the highest peak east of the Rockies. When standing on top of the observation tower, shown in this photo, you are more than 6,684 feet above sea level.

Hi, Sharon. I cropped it from a larger photo, processed it as a single image HDR photo on a program that I have, replaced the sky, then did the usual things like level, sharpening, etc. #8765761
