Description

A song written and composed in 1877 by Bobby Newcomb from Cincinnati, Ohio. According to a few sites I checked the song did not survive popularity in the USA, but became a big part of the traditional music scene in Newfoundland and Ireland-to name a few. It is so popular here that up until now I just assumed it originated from here. My fave version on you tube is "GBS -Forget Me Not". Great Big Sea is a local band that has been performing for more than 20 years locally and across Canada. Not sure if the are known outside of the country.
