About Cynthia Underhill
Bio
Cynthia Underhill is just beginning her career in Landscape Photography. She took pictures for fun most of her life, and took some college courses and night school courses in photography and other art forms over the years. But it wasn’t till 2006 when, in her early 40’s, she left her job after 17 years of government service in the DC area, and moved to Bethlehem, PA where she is closer to her family. This provided the opportunity for a career change. Landscape Photography enables her to spend more time outdoors, and with her 4 legged best friend (a mutt named Brandy). She is looking forward to exploring the many great areas to hike and bike while taking photographs in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding countryside. And also plans to take a few mini excursions, within PA and to the New England area in the upcoming year.
Her initial photographic focus has been on craft/art shows: placing 2nd in the Art Category at the Malvern Blooms Festival (2007) and taking Best of Show in the Photography Category at Peddler’s Village (2007). One of her photos was also selected as one of the 10 winners of the American Rivers 2007 Photo Contest, Best River Photo category.
All of her work is taken with a digital camera and printed on an Epson 4800 printer using archival paper and ink. For matting, Crescent or Bainbridge conservation quality mats are used.
