Mt. Everest is the highest point on this global village of ours. Mountaineers from around the world dream of standing on its summit. I had the good fortune of meeting Tenzing Norgay, the first to reach the top with Sir Edmund Hillary in 1953. (MT)

Thank you all so much! This image was taken on a flight out of Kathmandu. Everest is hidden behind Nuptse and Lohtse that are a part of the massif.
Here is a picture of Tenzing and I in a remote airport in the jungle area of Nepal. He was a true hero and gentleman.
