SECOND PLACE WINNER ~ JUNE 2013 ~ FLOWERS

Today I am celebrating my 27th year of recovery from substance abuse.
Thursday I'm going to celebrate with an old friend who's AA birthday is the same day as mine and he has 60 years of sobriety.
I am very grateful that my Higher Power, whom I choose to call God, healed me of my desire to drink or drug...
"One Day At A Time" I thank my family and friends for their love and support through all these years.

Joannie, I'm so happy to hear your father had so many years of sobriety. Yes, God has lead me on an interesting path alright. I only found my passion for photography when I bought a digital camera on vacation. With a bulging disk in my neck I couldn't play sports or do the things I had enjoyed in the past so my camera became my therapy. Yes, He had something else in store for me.... I found photography was my passion and I'm now addicted to it. A much better thing to be addicted to I'd say. LOL I really appreciate your support, you are my greatest cheerleader and I appreciate your years of support and encouragement. God bless you!!!

Hang in there kiddo. It only takes one EFP to become a First Place Winner. In which I'll have you know I have yet to receive one and you have. You're just in a valley right now and you soon will be rising to the top. Don't give up and get discouraged which I know is hard not to do but judges change and things will turn around for you. Tammy, I'm sorry I missed you, my friend. Thank you for your kind comments.

Kathy, you really touched my heart with your kind words. I give all the glory to God as I could not have done this without Him. I had tried everything on my own power and it didn't work but when I turned my will and my life over to the care of God, the cravings and desire to use left me. To me that was a miracle because my last year of using was pure insanity and my life was out of control. So I appreciate you and your support and I'm glad we are BP friends.

The flower reminds me of an onion and in recovery you are always peeling back the layers getting to the core of your hurts and reason for drugging or drinking. Using or drinking are just the symptoms of something much deeper.

I'm happy we share the same HP who I'm proud to say is God. He does bless me everyday with the community of BetterPhoto and I'm so glad I found it.
