A Chain of Arches
Congratulations to all the September 2008 Winners, Finalists and participants alike.

This is my first serious attempt at night photography. The arches are situated at the back of Pakistan Monument, which is at the top of a small hill called 'Shakar Parian' in the center of city, Islamabad. Sunset shot of two arches was posted a few days back. All arches are identical in shape and size.

No digital editing except for a slight crop. The reflection is falling on a polished marble pedestal on top of which the camera was placed. See the complete structure in the discussion section.

The people on the right give an idea of the actual height of the structure. Thanks for watching and have a super Saturday everybody.

18mm, f/3.5, 1.6sec, ISO 800.

Amazing job, Usman. Fantastic photo with great exposure and amazing reflection.
Not sure what you could do to improve on this except attempting this shot in the early morning or late afternoon, with the sunrise or sunset (no direct light, just a bit of glow) in the sky behind. It would change the image quite a lot, not sure if it would improve it.

Thank you all for your generous comments. Actually, the arches are structured in a circle. That's why, the closest on the left seems bigger than the farthest on the right. I am posting its picture to illustrate this. You will see the pedestal too.
