I always use the "alternate" uploader and had trouble with that this morning but decided to try the "regular" uploader and had no trouble.

I also had the same problem with the 'alternate image uploader' option ( which has been my default mode all these days) but when I tried the 'platinum uploader' option - it worked.

Thanks Carol and Ujjwal. I didn't think to try the new uploader. That worked. I prefer the alternate uploader since it retains the EXIF data. Hopefully it will get fixed.

I've always used the alternate uploader, too, which I much prefer. I tried the other uploader yesterday, though, and it did work. I would prefer to go back to the alternate, so I hope it gets fixed soon.

My problem with using the alternate uploader is that I've always used tiff files for BP. Just something I've done from the beginning because I always thought they looked better. And I understand that the uploader won't work with tiff files. I'll check that out and try it, but if so, I'd have to redo all the things ready to upload and use jpgs instead. I'd rather not, but maybe I will for the moment anyway.

I haven't uploaded anything for a while, but like the tiff versus JPEG limitation, if I recall, the older uploader sets your image display size to 800 pixels regardless of the size in your upload), while the newer uploader resulted in display sizes of 1024. I don't know if that is still the case today… But once the new one came out producing a slightly larger display image, I switched to that one for good.

The alternate (older) uploader has been using the same, larger size as the new uploader for some time now. So for me it was the best of both worlds -- larger + EXIF retained; and apparently it also worked for TIFF files. Please, Jim, bring it back -- or enhance the new uploader to retain EXIF and accept TIFF. TIA!
