Photography Question

Windows Vista

Windows Vista came installed on my new computer and I've had major problems using the reveal all and hide all masks in CS3--having them both up and working in layers.

We did a fresh install, but the problems remain. My husband thinks the problem might be Vista.

I have a Canon EOS 50D, use CS3 and Bridge.

Do the Vista upgrades solve this problem?

And, what problems have others had with Vista?

Hi Bunny, I'm not sure if you already resolved this, but if not, and are using the "Aero" desktop feature (the glass transparency effect), try turning it off. There is a (little) known bug with where CS3 can behave erratically with Aero enabled. It took me days to figure it out and Adobe tech support will just tell you to upgrade to the latest version of CS...but it's a simple fix. You just won't be able to use the Aero Desktop with CS3 running.

Hi Eric, My husband had never heard of Aero Desktop, so he did not check it during installation and it's never been used.

I did find that if I did not reduce my images far enough when doing compositing and intensive DD work, which I'm now learning, that all sorts of things went wrong, including wobbling images in CS3, simply because the images were way too large.

There is so much I don't understand with the more I learn that making mistakes is part of the learning process. However, I do appreciate your response to my plea for help.

Thank you.

Bunny
