im am almost near suicide here!

how do I make my jpgs largest as possible to look long or wide as possible on my pro site after I click on the tnail????????

some appear great, long and wide and
have same dimensions as those that dont look long or wide
this is mind boggling and I need an answer please.
it seems like hit or miss!!!!!!!!!??????

is there a formula to optimize the largest size when uploading images so that they look large on your web site!!!!???????????????????

please someone!!!!!!!!

From trial & error, what I've discovered is:

720px MAX on either dimension (or BP will resize down & the result will be less sharp than your original.)

PPI / DPI .... makes no difference what so ever (72, 300, 10,000,000,000,000 :D.

I *think* attaching an sRGB ICC profile helps, but I'm really not sure (if you use PSE, there is a check-box option to attach an ICC profile... I (now after trial & error) always a)convert the image to sRGB, then b)downsize the image using Bicubic or Bicubic Smoother and then c)use Unsharp Mask to bring back sharpness, and d)then use Save for Web and make sure that the ICC checkbox is checked.)

I've read rumours that some people get better results with TIFF format images, but, I've been very happy with JPEG (at max quality) ... I really can't see any diff betw my original & the uploaded image when I follow the above steps.

But, you might want to experiment further....

Try not to rip out ALL your hair ... :D

I guess the specs must be different for pro sites then. Can't help you in that case. As Carolyn said, ask BP.
