Photography Question

HP G4050

I have been doing some research on the new HP G4010 and G4050 flatbed scanners.
The information sounds good as far as being able to scan slides with either machine, I want to be able to produce 8X10 and 11X14 prints from the scanned 35 mm slides.
Does anyone have any information on these new products?
Thanks;
Gary

  I can't offer any experience view, but from what I've been reading (I'm also looking to buy for 35mm & med) HP is generally not reviewed well for film/slide scanning.

All (decent) reviews I've read point to Epson or Microtek. Microtek is prohibitively expensive (>$1000). Epson V700 / V7500 seems to get the best ratings for ~$500 (Epson clearance sometimes offers refurbished units for ~$350 I believe). However, Epson V500 (~$200 at Staples) or 4490 (~$112 TigerDirect) would probably fit the bill for your needs.

From what I've read.... ;)
