Lens For Ricoh XRP

I recently acquired a nearly mint Richoh XRP, sans lens. What type of lense should I buy? I want a standard use lense, for travel and everyday use. Nothing too galactic.

I spoke with a very helpful man at B&H today and he suggested a Pentax 28 or 35 mm SMCM or a Pentax 50 MM 1.7.

Thoughts? Thanks very much.

If you don't have it, the user manual is available at http://www.butkus.org/chinon/. While Ricoh calls their lens mount "Ricoh RK", it is identical to the Pentax K mount. Manual focus lenses would be preferred over the autofocus K-mount lenses.

Hey Jon, I think you mean Ricoh R-PK. That's the same as the Pentax PK-A mount. There are many of these lenses available on ebay. Most are available for about 29-79 dollars in good shape. Pricing is based on lens manufacturer, condition, and type of lens. Watch the details on the ad, and check the feedback on the seller, but I've never gotten a bad lens on ebay.

Have fun and keep shooting,
Mark H.

I have a XRP and XR2 as well as a Pentax Program Plus and the lenses are interchangeable with some limitations, the pentax K lenses will work in manual and aperture priority, they won't work in program mode, neither will the Rikenon XR lenses. To work in program mode on the XRP, the lenses have to be Rikenon P lenses. I do have a couple of zooms in a KAR mt that seems to work in program mode on the XRP and the Program Plus
