Alan, if you look at the top of the page, there is an window to type your question - I typed in Fast lenses for Canon SLR - this is the thread that came up - visit some of them, I'm sure you'll find your question has been answered. http://www.betterphoto.com/searchResults.php?szTerm=fast+lenses+for+canon+slr&schMod=QnA&limit2=all

I assume your camera is an EOS 3.

The bottom line is that any zoom, which might be the lens of choice for this type of shooting, just ain't that fast - I mean, not when you can purchase [for a lot of money] a 50-mm f/1.0 lens. Now that's fast.

Tamron makes an f/2.8, 28-135-mm [I think that's the range] for about $800. This might be the fastest zoom you can buy.

With today's great films, there's really no reason not to try ISO-400 or ISO-800 Kodak Max or FUJI Superia. I'm assuming your locations will be well lighted with color and brightness.

If not, you'll probably opt to use flash. You want need high speed film and, in fact, I've found that skin takes a pinkish tone when I used flash with ISO-400. Drop to ISO-100 or -200.
