Contest images I have noticed within the last 4 or 5 months any horizontal image I post in the contest is not only blurry but extra dark or contrasty compared to the original image. I have always used the 480 on the short side post method but that does not work anymore. I have also tried posting with 750 on the long side and that does not make a difference either. lol Any suggestions? And I have always sharpened after changing the image size but now I either have to really oversharpen or just post blurry images and mostly I just do the later now:(

When you change the resolution to 72 make sure the resample image box is unchecked and then when you change the pixel dimensions make sure it is checked. Do you "save for web"? If so don't and try just saving as a TIF or a regular JPG with at least a quality of ten.

Thanks Murry. I don't save for the web and I usually save in TIF with a quality of 12. However I usually have the resample image checked when I change the resolution. I will try your suggestion on my next upload. Thanks again for your help and responding!
