Help me I don't know my camera

I recieved a Minolta Maxxum 3 and I am still learning how to use it and I lost the owners manual and I was wondering how to work to f stop. I am in kind of a cramped place right now because my uncle and aunt hired me on to do pictures of his dog that does a type of racing and I do not know what to do and I am hoping to get an answer before July 4th because that is when I am taking the pictures and I just got the job yesterday. Usually when I take pictures they come out blurry. So I do not think that this camera really has a way for changing it but only by changing if it is for movement, still life, night photos and portraits. What kind of film should I also use for movement? Please help!!

You can download the manual free from http://www.minoltausa.com/eprise/main/MinoltaUSA/MUSAContent/CPG/CPG_SupportCenter/CPGSupport_Manual.

So far as I can tell, the Maxxum 3 is full auto-program exposure only. You cannot independently select the shutter speed or the aperture. Use the special progams settings. For action stopping shutter speeds, use Sports.

You want a high speed film to get fast shutter speeds that stop action and prevent blur from camera shake. ISO 400 is usually fast enough, and not as grainy as ISO 800.
