Which camera should I buy Nikon n80 or fm3a?

I know there's a big difference in terms of use but I want to know what type of camera I should buy, the Nikon n80 or the fm3a? In order for this to be answered I guess I have to indicate what type of person and photographer I'm aspiring to be. I have a small photography backround in need of refreshment which is why I have enrolled myself in a photography class. I am an artist and am solely interested in my portrayal of the world around me and want the ability to distort my surroundings. I know that the N80 is a more practical camera but I'm not shooting for practicality I'm shooting for artistic expression and progressing as an artistic photographer. I would appreciate anyone who can lead me in any direction and please don't take price into accout when assisting me in coming to my conclusion.
Thanks again,

Mike Mandel

For the artistic expression you are looking for, you'd want complete control over focus, aperture and shutter. The N80 would give you that as well, but second-guessing automation sems to be an added complication. If you get into wide angles, save some money and use Nikkor AIS manual focus wides on the FM3A. (Maybe the N80 can use them as well).

Says who? The N80's complicated menu displays must be at least as, if not more impractical than the FM3a's simple aperture and shutter speed controls. If you aren't shooting wildlife or sports, autofocus and program modes are of little use. And as far as practicality means a reliable, long-lived camera, that FM3a will last long after the N80 has been sent to the trash heap.
