35 mm Enlargements I take my children when they turn a year old to a profesional photographer. Each of them have a canvas 16x20. I wanted to save a bit of money this time around and try to do it myself. What are the chances of getting a decent 16x20 canvas with a 35mm camera? What film would be best?

A fine-grain print film at 100 ASA will enlarge well to 16 x 20. ASA 50 would be even better, but it may be difficult to keep your 1 year old from moving during a long exposure time. Many pro labs offer canvas printing. You can check on-line for one within your price range. Two things to consider...: If you want professional results, you need to know something about lighting, backgrounds, etc. Good luck!

I agree with Bob, but there are other options. For instance, if you wanted to shoot black and white using, say 400 ASA, you could. You would just get a grainy look. But, I actually like the grain. I use 400 ASA all the time. I also use 1600 all the time. And, I blow them up. I love the effect. But, for large blow up's, it is critical that the exposure is correct. You should give it a try. Maybe you'll learn something from it. Jerry
