As of 01/01/2017 I don't have any EPs for the month of December yet... I do want to send a big congrats to all the November contest Finalists and winners! So many gorgeous images! Thanks Jill, I appreciate your support. By the way, Eps have been added for Dec. Apparently they must be from the Dec. 31st entries. So as of right now, it seems eps have been granted for Dec. 1 and Dec. 31.

I'm with Melinda...very strange order of judging....but I'm not going to complain.....at least not until the 25th or so if no more activity. LOL!! I love putting my images on BP. I love the camaraderie, I like seeing other's works and learning from others and I would hate to to think BP is on it's last legs because Jim is starting a new business. I didn't get to watch the Monday night thing he did, so I've no idea what the new business is or how it will impact BP. But I must admit the lateness of the judging in December was very frustrating. And all that after I said I wasn't going to complain! Oh, and by the way, I also got an EP for the 31st.

One would hope, Bill (that we would see action today on the SF's). I know it's a huge job, but it really was much more fun for everyone, I think, when the SF's were announced by about the 20th, the Finalists by about the 25th, and the Winners about now. It was so much fun to look at what everyone had, to hope for the success of your own and of other favorites, to have time to congratulate friends at each step of the way. And the impression was that time was being taken in the judging of each step, that the merits of those that made the cut were being weighed before the next level was announced. The winners always are and always have been stellar, so this isn't to be taken as any kind of a criticism of the final choices - just as a bit of wistful remembering.

I too liked the old progression of contest level announcements. And I still think that cramming them all in such a short time does not speak well regarding how fair the judging is. I agree that all the winners are great photos. But, that does not mean that many equally great photos may have been overlooked in the rush.

Very well said Nikki, I believe this is how many of us here feel. Hope the Gods at BP take cognizance of this fact and grant us at least one day each between SFs, Finalists and Winners so that we are able to enjoy looking at, commenting and congratulating our friends on such fabulous images. Currently its more like a 'Wham Bam and Thank you for playing' feel!

It was so much fun, in the good ole days of BP, to savor each step along the way. Anticipation is a nice feeling; it was nice to anticipate each step, savor the progression, enjoy the recognition before rushing on to the next. Thanks, Nikki, for stating it so well... I'm feeling reminiscent...

In retrospect, here is what I miss: When the Finalists would be announced, I would spend a few days viewing each of the photos. Trying to determine which I think would go on to placing Gold. This was great for me because I am always amazed of the talent here in BP. Then when the Gold round appeared I wouldn't be so down as I would have witnessed the awesome competition. Instead, I would be all the more happy for the deserving winners. In addition, if I was lucky enough to go on to Gold, then I would be all the more elated. Now as it is, I don't even view the Finalists until days or weeks after the posting. I loose the anticipation. Probably more regretful, I loose the inspiration gained by all those fabulous Finalists. Sometimes I don't even view all of the Finalists and go straight to the Winners. My loss.

I'm really confused now! Someone wrote a congrats on my 12/31 image for a finalist! Underneath the picture was a EP not finalist! So I went to the finalist page in the contest and mine was the first picture and still no finalist badge! I didn't get a staff fav notice or a finalist notice...I must be really good! :-)
