The way to start a photo library online is to set up a thumbnail site which is like an index or contact sheet of all your photos. clicking on a thumbnail sends the browser to a larger image of the selected photograph your only problem is protecting your images from thieves. The first thing you must do is watermark the full size image this puts a faint text or logo image across the photo rendering it pointless to steal. This can be done with many image manipulation programs such as Adobe Photoshop or Jasc Paint shop pro although I would recomend Paint shop pro as its around £50 instead of about £400 for Adobe photoshop. next you need to set up a merchant account, this could be aproblem if you are not already a merchant, if you are not a merchant you should use online merchants such as www.clickbank.com or www.worldpay.com. once this is all done you need to consider protecting your digital downloads if this is your delivery method (if you are going to sell slides or printed photos then the watermark will be enough)If you wish to sell digital downloads then you need tosearch for products such as easy download protector which will change your download page from a html page to a PHP page which will be protected by programming within it and as such dissalows theft of your digital images. once this is all done you will be able to sell your photos online without fear of theft.
