Online photo's here published? Hello, I didn't know how to put it into a short few words for the title. But my question here is that when you upload a picture onto this site for galler view, is it published on the site? I am wanting to submit a photo that I took to another contest elsewhere (Just trying to work on a few things; I want to apply for a course to a collage and it says I need a enterance portfolio in addition to apply for that certain course. So I am pulling a few strings here and there.) and it ask's if the picture has been published before. So I'm just wondering. Thank you in advance. Alex W P.S. I have submitted photo's to the free contest on this site and does that affect if the picture has been published or not? And if a pictured of mine in the future gets reginized as a "Editor's Choice" or even when a contest, does it been it is published somewhere? P.S.S. I am sorry if I am confusing you!

Hello Again, I have just answered my question. The pictures that you do upload are published (but correct me if I am wrong.). But that brings me to my next question, how can I find out when I uploaded the picture on the site? Because it asks when was the picture published. Thanks in advance again. Alex W

Just click on your picture to enlarge it, and under the title and description there is an upload date.

Typically when the word “published” is used in the context that you describe, it does not mean if your image has been shown on your own web site/gallery online. It generally means if your image has been published in print media or in an online media source. You might want to verify this with the school to which you are applying. Irene
