Can I use Tamron/Kenko Teleconverters with Nikon

Hi

This is my second question in this regard. I already got some helpful suggestions from Andy regarding Nikon teleconverters. (thanks to him)

In the menatime I was looking at some other brands and came across the following:
1. Tamron 1.4X AF for Nikon AF D.
2. Kenko Teleplus 1.5x AF for Nikon AF.

My ques is :
Can I use any one of the above mentioned brand or any other non-Nikon with -
1. Nikon 70-300 f/4-5.6D ED lens
2. Nikon 28-105 f/3.5-4.5D lenses.

I have a N80-D.

I will appreciate any help.

thanks

On lenses this slow, the additional light loss which incurs as a result of using the 1.4x teleconverter darkens the finder to where it could be difficult to focus at times, resulting in soft images. Autofocus could help in this case. Or only use the teleconverters in light bright enough to focus.
