Dainty Dribbling

  Dainty Dribbling
Dainty Dribbling
---
Often a camera set to capture lots of frames per second will isolate a peculiar moment in time.
----
This was shot during the Philadelphia (high school basketball) City Championship game, which was won in the final SECOND of the game by the team wearing the dark jerseys.
----
Believe me, there was NOTHING "dainty" going on in any of the action during this nail-biter of a game.
-------
BTW, this photo benefited greatly from the use of OnOne Software's Basic Brushes in their Perfect Effects plugin. I'll post a version of the photo before I applied brushes to reduce blown-out highlights and increase detail in the white uniform. The brushes are SIMPLE to apply and work like small miracles. I'm serious. There are many such brushes in the plugin.

I have no connection to OnOne Software, but I like to give credit to a company that is customer-oriented and strives to constantly improve their product.

Here's the photo just before I applied the "magic" brushes. Check out the highlights on the face of the boy with the ball, and on the white uniform. Other brushes were more subtly applied to this image.

GREAT title and finding the humor of timing, Michelle.
also, excellents work with lighting and color as indoor sports arenas have notoriously bad lighting.

I agree with Karen. Indoor sports and events are very difficult. Great action shot. I would like to know your camera settings for this if you don't mind me asking. I seem to never have my speed up high enough. I need more practice on this.

Great job with this difficult fast action capture, Michelle! Terrific expression and super close-up of the action. You have really become quite the sports photographer and it's obvious you enjoy it! Agree that OneOne's Perfect Photo Suite 7 is a major upgrade and very easy to use.

I for one really enjoy the work that you do with people as we get such interesting views of the people. Here in this action shot you were able to get the details so perfect, so sharp. Perfect pov and composing Michelle. Beautifully done my friend.

The title says it all..and you had a great shutter speed....and location. Are you provided special access...or just in the right place/right time? Nicely done, Michelle!
