I am getting sick of everything being snow covered outside, so I thought I would post this one. This is one of the farms that I pass daily on my way to and from work. I took this early one morning in August. They had cut hay across the road and I thought I would show that also.

Beautiful Beth! I love the extremely peaceful feeling of both these images. They both make me think of the older days when life was slower (harder, but slower). I keep wanting to pick up the barn and move it to the left. But since I can't do that . . . . maybe a small crop bringing in the left side of the frame a bit. :)

I like this Beth. Scenes like this always bring out the country boy in me. I like Teresa's idea of a 4x6 crop. Start in the lower right and crop to remove about 1/2 the distance from the left edge to the barn. Also apply a levels adjustment and move the white slider to the left on the histogram until it meets the main body of image data. You won't lose the mood but will gain a brighter image.

PS: Same levels adjustment suggested for the other image as well.

Really pretty. I agree with the crop ideas. I look forward to seeing the edits. I like the hay bales picture-it's just kind of simple and a little abstract.

I did the edits as suggested and lightened them up. There is some really beautiful country on the way to work. I love when they cut the hay and then leave the round bales in the fields for several days. Later they wrap them in white plastic and store them near the barns or wherever. Sometimes it is like big marshmallows.
