I love color. For me, color is the most exciting element of design. I cannot imagine myself working in black and white. From the first delicate crocus to the brilliant fall mums, my window on the world is filled with color. I want to share with you the incredible colors of nature that surround us daily, and are too often taken for granted. I hope you enjoy my images.

Bio

One perfect flower, (or adorable baby) two strobes, and three hours to shoot. What could be better?
How did I get here, from being the casual now-and-then-grab-a-snapshot-of-the-kids-and-dog phtographer? Frankly, I'm not sure. I think it has something to do with retirement, being on my own after 30 years of marriage, having adorable grandchildren, (including triplets), space and time for gardening, and a "let's see if I can do that" approach to life.
My kids gave me a Canon digital rebel for Christmas. One new computer, two printers, and a dozen how-to books later, I'm pretty much up to speed. I shoot, edit, print, mat, and frame.
I have a small studio set-up in my basement where I photograph the grandchildren and any others who happen along. I raise a lot of flowers and drag them into the studio too. It gets messy there at times.
I am a miserable travel photographer - I like to travel, but can't seem to travel and take pictures at the same time. I'm working on that. I'm also working on getting my images into some local galleries, and hope to sell a print or two.
I use the Canon digital rebel, a couple lenses, extension tubes, and a good tripod. And, oh yes, the strobes and umbrellas in the studio.
I'd like a good photographer's assistant, but the triplets are still in diapers, and the dog won't work for what I pay. I'll have to continue to prop my backgrounds against coffee cans, hold the reflector in one hand, steady the props with the other, hold the remote release cable between my teeth, and chase the two-year-olds around the studio on my knees.
I hope you enjoy my images as much as I enjoy making them.
